Utawarerumono - ep 13

teehee. You get eruru going ‘eh’ and ‘huh’ again. which all make for very cute scenes. heh. I thought it was pretty cruel of hakuoro to say that eruruu is like his mom. Isn’t it obvious that she likes him. And he kept sending out the wrong signals. Feels so irritating to me.
Well well. So touka survived. (duh).

The people are wondering why there is an evinkuraga amounst the enemy ranks. And whether this means that Hakuoro is evil. But Hakuoro is reminded that it is also his responsibility to rest well, as leader of the country, to prepare for emergencies.

Utawarerumono - ep 12

The innocence of a child is so important.

I just like Aruru and mukkuru, and the way they seem to relieve all tensions. The fight scenes involving touka were thankfully fairly well animated. Although I can’t help feel that the anime is more and more like a game. With so many ‘hero characters’ on Hakuoro’s side, would he ever lose? Then again, the anime IS based on a game. so….

Hakuoro’s expression from the past is frighteningly eerie.

The battle from the last episode ends when Karura comes to the rescue of Hakuoro. Her intervention allows the rest of the characters to gather in front of Hakuoro. Touka then advices Orikakan that the kutcha-ketcha army should retreat.

Utawarerumono - ep 11

Oops. Haven’t been blogging about this series in a while. In between, the neighboring country of Shikeripechimu invaded, and were driven back, a character named Karura joins the team. She’s seems super powerful though, full of brute force. If you consider that this anime is based on a game… it does seem to be fit with character joining in after character. haha.

I was pretty stunned this episode, with the destruction of yamaura village. (where erruru came from). There were happy scenes from the village, and the next thing you know… they are pretty much dead. But it was well presented though, with a few powerful emotional scenes.

The animation was overall better, but there were still some inconsistencies, and I still do not like the computer animation. Battle scenes up next though. Should be good. Excited to see karura fight too.

Utawarerumono - ep 08

bscap0111.jpgbscap0112.jpgbscap0113.jpg

Hakuoro, eruruu, aruruu and oboro stays behind in the palace to take over the management of the country, while the rest of the village returns home. Princess Urutorii, one of the Onkami Yamukai arrives to meet hakuoro. The Onkami Yamukai serves as arbiters between countries and also within each country itself. Erruru then beings Urutorii around on a tour of the country.

On a walk at night, Hakuoro catches a glimpse of another angel winged character (Kamyu) prancing and dancing on the water. She disappears, but Hakuoro returns home to find her sleeping on her bed. She’s very surprised that hakuoro can see her, and tries to cast an invisible spell, which fails however after 5 seconds. She runs away, but ends up meeting mukuru, and runs back into hakuoro’s room.

Aruruu is following behind mukuru, and on seeing kamyu, runs away. Kamyu is Urutorii’s sister, but was not allowed to go out of home. Kamyu tries to play with arruru, but aruruu keeps running away. Hakuoro teaches her to bring a honeyed beehive, in order to get onthe good side of aruruu.Together with yuzuha, they end up having a very fun time together.

Seems like all things are well, especially as the Onkami Yamukai has seen that things are definitely a lot better after regime change.

Utawarerumono - First impressions

I’ve watched up to ep 7 so far.

bscap0088.jpgbscap0086.jpgbscap0094.jpg

The anime takes place in a world where the people look almost like human beings, but with elfish ears, and a tail. Eruru, granddaughter of the village elder, rescues a masked man one day. Not only has he lost his memories, but he also has a mask on his face that he just can’t get off. Mysterious enough for you?

Through a series of incidents, the guy, (now named Hakuoro), is accepted into the village, and also becomes the village elder. Yet misfortune occurs, and the village is forced to rebel against it’s emperor. Eventually, they do win, but this is simply the start of the story.

mmm… the first thing I thought of when watching the anime was samurai 7. The animation was of the same top notch quality, and the story takes place in similar village-type setting. But I do like utawarerumono more. It’s also similar to juuni kokki, although juuni kokki remains as one of my top favorites.
