As everybody should know by now, Bubba released a Yuki figurine awhile back. If you’re like me, it’s impossible to get hold of one of the originals.
The reasons for the limited availability is that the original is a resin kit, where the mold wears out easily. (in other words, damn hard to make)
Anyway, E2046 has put up a recast for preorder. (note that it’s not liscenced or whatever) I was very pleased with the Haruhi I ordered previously, so obviously I’ve put down another order for this one. If you’re in Singapore, the costs will run up to just slightly below S$200. No clues on release date yet.

My blog got highlighted in E2046’s newsletter, which was kinda embarassing. The writeup was overly too nice, not to mention that this blog didn’t deal with garage kits that often either. This was after Darkmirage highlighted a banner exchange, and I thought I’d participate since I liked the haruhi figure that I got from there alot.

Taken from their newsletter

Very sweet of them though. haha. Pleasant surprise. I’ve been very satisfied with the products from their gathering series though. Some current highlights in my opinion are a red haruhi, and an upcoming Maid Saber. (I won’t be getting it though, I’ve got enough sabers at the moment)
I am waiting for their pre-painted Bubba Yuki to appear though. Totally waiting for that one.

Kwok points out that he is not sure if Odex is initiating the clampdown on illegal anime downloads. I’ve already had my suspicions that it’s more the government at work rather than Odex itself, but then again, nobody will know what the truth is unless someone at Odex speaks out truthfully.
Of course, the whole episode was an opportunity to bring out the bad points of Odex. As Skane points out (thanks Skane!) that even ANN doesn’t have a too good impression of Odex.
So with all the hoohaa… imagine my surprise to see a torrent for Shuffle Memories hosted on TPJC students site @ animesuki. TPJC being a junior college (SCHOOL SCHOOL! You know.. something like high school in japan *i think*) in Singapore. The fansub group is Ayako, a new group that started doing kyoshiro as well and as Hazel notes, has a sense of humor.
After all the noise about illegal downloads, I wonder what the authorities think of this. haha…

Looks like I’m talking about ODEX all the time. This is what happens when you don’t have anime to watch. Tsubaki points out a comment he got on his blog regarding ODEX. I don’t think Odex should be slammed that badly though, but I do think everything isn’t good for the anime scene in Singapore. But anyway, here’s the whole comment reproduced.

Tibits about Cosafe, legality of fansubs in Singapore and a brand new IRC channel.
Bj0rn reports and does a summary of what appears to be comments made by Julia in several local anime blogs.
because to me…for a point…it became hopeless (read ALL the comments posted above)….We strayed away from our main ideas…our main setup…our REAL meido cafe…
For the sake of Class, Floyd and Ferlyn rushed too fast into it…despite me warning them not to open too fast…and everything in there was , truthly not even half of what I had planned.
It’s actually quite an interesting read giving insight to the background of the cafe.

Riuva is organizing a CS outing with most of the local animebloggers attending. So if you’ve ever wanted to meet the faces behind those anime blogs, (or actually, just want to backstab them) this would be a good chance to do it.
It’s open to public, but you’ve got to leave a comment at Riuva’s entry for reservations. It’s this coming saturday at 7.30 at paradiz center.
