Continuing from where it left off…

Shouji, Nana, Kyosuke and Junko decide to go to the beach during the summer vacation, instead of remaining in the mountains. It is here that Junko reveals that she and kyosuke would be going to tokyo to attend an arts university there. This leaves NANA heartbroken until Shouji suggests that they too try for a tokyo university.

Months later, on a trip to tokyo, it is revealed that shouji and nana both failed to get into any university. Shouji prepares to be a rounin, but thinks that nana’s plans to go to tokyo are unrealistic. An argument arises, and shouji abandons nana in the middle of tokyo, leaving nana lost.

In the midst of it all, Nana surprisingly meets Asano-san, and through this unexpected meeting, gets rid of an unresolved emotional baggage. At the same time, a call from kyosuke tells nana that Shouji is actually very much in love with nana, just as nana herself probably likes shouji too, without admitting. Nana then sets off to look for shouji, who is around running around looking for nana.

~Oops…problems with my screencapture… no screenshots for ep04~

Well… ep 04 starts with a happy resolution, and shows the start of NANA’s and Shouji’s long distance relationship

Um. to summarise episode 4, it basically reveals why Oosaki Nana is the way she is, due to the way she was brought up. It also introduces her relationship with Ren, who is also her band member.

The episode also introduces the rest of the band, however, it is almost time for the band to break up, with it’s members leading their own seperate lives. However, Ren delays telling nana this.

Back home, Nana and Ren recounts her life with grandma, and also recounts the very first time the met. After a time of passion in bed, Ren reveals that he is leaving for tokyo, and Nana is free to live the life that she wants.

Generally, I thought the anime is getting better, not as slow as I thought it would be. The introductions were done fairly tastefull and well done, especially the use of music wtih Oosaki Nana, something that you cannot get from manga.

why do people go around chasing for love, while some people couldn’t cared less.
This episode gives the history of nana, and well… if you don’t know much about japanese society, this episode will give you a better picture.

But basically, this episode gives you a background of who Nana is, what kind of a person she is, and what she strives for. (well.. basically.. guys) There’s also a slight introduction of how Nana and Shouji got together which I guess will be completed in episode 3.

It got a little slow at times for me, ( but I guess there’s nothing wrong when you consider who the anime is targetted towards.) but everytime I got bored, it picked up again. So I would say I still enjoy it, for it’s something pretty different.

Komatsu Naka happens to sit next to Osaki Nana in the train for Tokyo. Komatsu Nana is going to meet her boyfriend, while Osaki Nana is going to Tokyo to become a musician. Because they happened to have same names, soon they become friends. Furthermore, when they’re looking for apartments, they meet again. Then, they began to live in the same room.

Komatsu Nana begins her new life in Tokyo being helped by her boyfriend, Shoji, and the friends from the same town, Junko and Kyosuke. On the other hand, Osaki Nana aims at the stage debut as a vocalist of a punk rock group, “Blast”, holding her love towards Ren, a guitarist of a popular band group, Trapnest.

At first glance, they are opposite; while Komatsu Nana is gentle and innocent, Osaki Nana keeps cool attitude for everything. However, their bond is getting tighter although sometimes they have quarrels.

Taken from AnimeNFO

Firstly, I have not read the manga before. (In fact, I read very few manga)

Anyway, the animation seems pretty realistic type. The first anime that comes to mind from the limited few I’ve watched would be something similar to Fooly Cooly. Very good animation though.

Do you believe in fate? I do. and So does Nana. well.. the chirpy nana. Yes, the two main characters are both called nana, well… in ep 1 anyway. The first ep is about how nana came to tokyo, and met nana no.2 on the train, and somehow ended up sharing an apartment. The ending was very well done, and you can just see the friendship that’s going to grow.

NANA has a big following in japan. Well, I know nothing about NANA, so I guess I’ll be finding out more in future episodes soon.
