To Love-Ru - ep 04

I was complaining at the last episode that the interesting things that were supposed to happened to Haruna were not happening! Well… they finally introduced some octopus and tentacles this episode round. ;)

I laughed a fair bit at the first joke. Rito’s dreams of Haruna suddenly turned into Haruna holding out 2 balloons(?) to Rito. Of course Rito ends up waking up pressing to Lala’s breast instead.

Zastins horrifies Rito with stories about what he needs to do as King of Deviluke in the future. Basically… War and intergalaxy domination. Of course Rito has no idea how to fight at all.

At the same time, we see how Lala loves earth food. Especially since it’s warm. Zastin seems to have never tasted food as tasty as earth food either. Lala proceeds to try to cook up something. Her very first try cooking. Nearly kills Rito. :|

RIto then decides that this is the best chance to avoid being the King of Deviluke. Demand that his wife must know how to cook. This saddens Lala greatly, and she ends up transportting herself away, not turning up for school the next morning either.

But did anybody believe Lala will be gone for good? She pops back up in the middle of lessons, dragging Rito away. She announces that she has gone round gathering all the neccessary ingridients and trained her cooking.

Haruna who is looking for the 2 of them, ends up entering the classroom just as a live octopus emerges from Lala’s fridge. Octopus? Tentacles? Girls? You get the idea. Add in one more squid for even more fun.  Even Zastin who appears and tries to help, has his hands full with a lobster that appears.

Thoughts

This episode was full of cliches in the first half. But the second half sure was a weird way to introduce tentacles. The manga itself had such a great plot, and they don’t even bother following it. Heck, they didn’t even show how this tentacle mess ended. Slightly funnier than ep 03, but whole series is a general let down so far. You know… even the CG animated Octopus looks better than the normal stuff that is served up.
