Sumomomo Momomo - ep 19

Only in Sumomomo can you come up with the special powers of cosplay. Obtain all the special powers of the character that you cosplay, that’s pretty unique. Unfortunately though, the new character is yet another filler.

Sweeping outside the apartment one day, Momoko finds a lady who collapses in front of her. Seems that the story goes that she’s was forced to work as a maid to pay the debts of her parents. Abused and tortured, she was finally chased out after being blamed for breaking a vase. Out of kindness, everybody offers to let Kinu stay in the attic. (seems that the assassin grandma had ran away and never came back)

It’s not long before Kinu displays her helpfulness and versatility. House cleaning, tennis, and an expert motor cyclist.

Kinu offers to help Momoko with the groceries shopping. But surprisingly, delivers a strong punch to momoko on the way home. At dinner, nobody has any idea where momoko went, until she comes back clutching her stomach. But she doesn’t say anything.

At night though, she finally tells Koushi, but of course it’s something hard to believe, especially since Kinu has been so helpful. Next morning though, Koushi finds a letter from Kinu saying that she’s leaving because Momoko seemed angry at her, especially over dinner.

In the end, Koushi gives Momoko the cold shoulder, without even explaining why. But on the way home from school, they meet Kinu being harassed by two gangsters. After rescuing her, they invite her back to the apartment again.

While Momoko is preparing dinner, Kinu is at one side sharpening a kitchen knife. Suddenly, she mentions that she’s an assassin, here to kill Koushi. In shock, Momoko spills the dinner onto Kinu. But when Koushi arrives, Kinu spins a story of how Momoko had destroyed the dinner Kinu supposedly prepared.

Even the rest find it hard to believe that Kinu is an assassin. For reasons such as how she can draw very moe doujins for Hanzo, and the fact that she does not seem to have any battle aura nor muscular body. Left with no choice, Momoko promises to protect Koushi well.

However, things don’t go well over dinner even as Momoko wanted to taste all the food for poison before Koushi eats them. Even in the public bath, Momoko can only end up being jealous of Kinu’s breast size.

At night though, Kinu invites Momoko out to an open space. There, she reveals that she is Tenten’s favorite dress-up doll, with the powers of whatever character she cosplays as. Thus a battle breaks out.

Unknown to Momoko though, Kinu had left a letter for Koushi to come find them. Koushi arrives just as Momoko deals a killer blow to Kinu. Not realising what actually happened, Koushi scolds Momoko and chases her away.

While wandering the streets, Momoko happens to meet Tenka’s oldest brother, who easily absorbs Momoko’s attack. At the riverside, Koushi is searching for Momoko as well, but meets Tenten and Tenka’s other brother.

Here, he finally finds out who Kinu really is. But ruthless tenten soons dispatches and destroys Kinu like the doll she is. As a final blow, she makes Koushi swallow a poison ball, guaranteeing death in a week’s time.

Thoughts

AH? Another filler character? We’re already near the end of the season and the plot is still hardly advancing. Looks like the stories will focus entirely on the tiger family. (unfortunately) The only thing Kinu provides is to look cute and provide for some sexy moments. (unneeded)

Poor momoko. I hate situations like the one she found herself in. Misunderstood by the one you care for, you can’t abandon him, yet being together will continue to choose pain. Whatever choice you choose is still painful.

Interesting things here and there, in this episode i guess. FIght scene was good as usual I though, but very short.

Finally new battle dresses for everyone in the next episode.
