This episode sees Koushi and Momoko shifting to become Iroha and Hanzo’s neighbours. With the focus back on the core characters and Sanae, it made for a very enjoyable episode, even if there wasn’t much plot wise. Oh yeah, Iroha pretty much got new clothes.

Apparently Koushi’s father and Old Landlady goes way back. Hence when he talked about how a lady friend would take care of them, Koushi and Iroha find themselves as Iroha’s neighbour. Old rules don’t change though, separate rooms for Koushi andMomoko. Not that it prevents misunderstandings from happening.

Dinner together pretty much reveals that Tenka and Hanzo are pretty the same type of guys. Love-lorn. Both soon are scolding each other for lacking guts and courage. Sanae soon pays a visit with her grandmother. Koushi is utterly relieved. At last, one NORMAL person.

Looking at the news about the fire at Koushi’s house, Iroha realized from the photo that it was started by assassins, a news that she shares with Momoko. (Nothing is done about it in this episode though)

A visit round the apartment by momoko and Koushi soon reveals who their neighbours are. Tenka, iroha, hanzo, mad prosecutor, and mad assassin who stays in the attic.

Anyway, the landlady holds a crazy Yaminabe (potluck) dinner as a welcome party. Pretty much insane stuff which only Momoko is excited over. Meanwhile, everybody else thinks about how to use the party to fulfill their dreams.

Iroha has her omelette filled with weird ingredients. Hanzo has some love magic Horenhapen activated with his hair. Tenko’s plan is to replace Hanzo’s hair with his own and feed it to momoko. Mad prosecutor has chilli hot dumplings, while assassin has her pineapple grenade.

Finally the party arrives, but of course nobody dares to eat anything, thanks to landlady’s soup. In the end, Momoko takes the first attempt, but luckily grabs her own tasty onigiri. Tenka is next. First K.O. after eating chilli dumplings.

Thus landlady is excited by all that’s happening, and reveals the challenge. Whoever eats the pink ganmo gets free rent for a year. Enough incentive for everybody to eat like crazy, even Sanae does so to save Koushi from dangerous food.

Koushi nearly dies from eating Iroha’s Tamagoyaki, but survives. Next to K.O. is Iroha who eats the Horenhapen with Tenka’s hair, thus falling in love with him. Next is mad prosecutor who falls in love with Hanzo. While attempting to prevent Hanzo from eating chilli dumpling, they end up biting into one at the same time. Double K.O.

Just as assassin feeds Koushi the grenade though, Koushi ends up picking up a Momoko who begs him to “eat her”. All the insane going ons revives the animals in everybody, scaring the assassin away. Momoko also gets disqualified after scalding herself and falling onto Sanae in a 69 position.

Only Koushi left. 1 v 1 challenge with landlady. But Koushi has his own tricks too, and going straight for Landlady’s chopstick, manages to get the ganmo as well. Oops, it falls out of the room after a tussel, and ends up getting eaten by Tenka’s cat. No choice but to allow pets in the apartment now.

Thoughts

Lovely. Even all the H-jokes are back. Like I’ve said in the earlier episode, this series is best when it focuses on the main characters, rather then trying to introduce other stuff. Definitely nice to see Iroha in something other than her school uniform
