Did you miss Momoko’s big eyes? I did! haha, and the fansub is finally out. Thankfully, it’s back to the manga, instead of more aimless fillers. This episode might seem lacking in plot advancement, but it’s many times better than all the previous filler episodes.

Ah… Momoko uses her ultimate skill to open up a hole in the rain clouds for the sun to shine through and dry her clothes. She then hears Koushi returning and immediately puts on her apron to go be a loving wife. Cooking… bathing…. but NO SLEEPING TOGETHER!

With what happens the night before, Momoko is left feeling a little down. She chances upon a call-in television program which talks about how the spark of your marriage might have seemed to disappeared. Of course, the host offers up 7 steps to bring that spark back. Fantasies start to run wild in Momoko’s head.

Of course, Momoko follows the 7 steps, and obviously, the 7 steps do not quite work. First step, change your hairstyle. If changing the hairstyle to two strands does not work, four will not either.

Trying to make someone jealous of you when he doesn’t care two hoots about you would most likely not work either. Momoko ends up being innocently dragged into the guy’s obsession with trains.

Iroha, Hanzo walks home together with Momoko, but they end up seeing Koushi and Sanae together, seemingly on a date. Iroha decides to help out Momoko, and the next two steps are carried out.

Momoko appears on a TV quiz show. This fulfils the step of doing something special, and also helps to demostrate a new side of Momoko. Intelligence! As incompetent as Iroha and Hanzo are, they fail miserably in getting Koushi to watch the TV, and Koushi ends up not catching the quiz show at all.

On the way home, Momoko catches sight of an abandoned cat, and decides to bring it  home.  Unfortunately, Koushi hates ALL animals, and  refuses to let Momoko keep the cat. (The next step to reigniting sparks is to keep a pet!) Momoko secretly keeps it though.

Next step is a physical representation of your love. To momoko, this means shirts with the print “I love Koushi/Momoko”. Koushi expectedly refuses to wear it.

Returning to his room, Koushi finds his room trashed thanks to the cat. This leads to a cold war between Koushi and Momoko. Left to cook instant noodles for his dinner, Koushi comments that it’s delicious, leading to more tears by Momoko, as she thinks her cooking can’t even compare to instant noodles.

In the end, Momoko cooks dinner for the cat as it was hungry, and as a “might as well” thing, cooked Koushi’s favorite dish, and they all sat down to enjoy dinner. Just then, Koushi remembers about the pair of shoes he bought Momoko, which he asked Sanae to help picked. Filled with joy, Momoko remembers the final tip/step is to just be yourself, and soon Momoko is back to her normal self.

Too bad the shoes don’t fit.

Next day, they meet an absolutely different  Tiger assasin, which prepares the way for the final story arc.

Thoughts.

OH MY. SHOES FOR MOMOKO!

Anyway, this episode wasn’t superb material, and felt more like a filler between story arcs. Although compared to the non-manga fillers we’ve been having, this is way better. It’s really refreshing to just see momoko again.  We’re back to the typical jokes created by momoko.
