Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru - 10

This episode really performed beyond my expectations, especially when compared to previous episodes of the series. Not only is there the exciting Romeo n Juliet play scenes, added kissing scenes between Mariya and Mizuho were added in as well. *cheers*

A new day sees a new energetic Mariya, surprising everyone. Though in private, Mariya is obviously still burdened by matters of the heart.

Lunch time sees Mizuho faced with a packed canteen, seeing how classrooms are closed in preparations for the festival. Takako arrives and invites Mizuho to have lunch with her. Taking a bite of Takako’s sandwiches, Mizuho can only say how delicious it is. This leaves Takako totally blushing, even after she returns to the student council office.

Preparations for the festival is in full swing, even as Kei successfully gets everybody in the play to relax with a joke. Mizuho and Takako too are invited to see the preparations for planetarium by one of it’s members. This sets up a wonderful love confrontation between takako and Mariya. ;)

So the night before the festival arrives, and Mizuho bumps into Mariya at the staircase, who offers to help Mariya rehearse. We see Mariya burying her face in the script book, messing up, all in nervousness and excitement though.

Mariya tries to tease Mizuho at first though, but when the practise gets into full swing, and the kiss is about to happen… Mariya ends up up running out of the room calling Mizuho pervert and ecchi. She ends up in her own room saying that it (her heart) hurts.

The next day sees a band-aid on Mariya’s nose, a result of her banging the wall rushing out of Mizuho’s room. She’s totally listless until Sensei comes along and ask her to show more energy.

Meanwhile, Mizuho is causing the school girls to faint each time he visits a stall and heaps on praises.

Back at the backstage of the play, Takako is feeling all nervous. Mizuho plays some stupid trick on her to try and get her nervousness away. Of course it doesn’t work, since Mizuho himself is the reason for her nervousness. In fact, she blushes even more.

Even the planetarium’s script covers a triangle constellation, just like Mariya’s love triangle. Mariya can’t bear to watch the play though, instead chooses to go back to the planetarium.

Thus the first kissing scene happens, but Mizuho and Takako do not actually kiss, though from far (and the audience), it does seem like so.

In the end, Mariya can’t bear it any more, and rushes to watch the play.

Meanwhile…. it’s the bed scene. To Takako’s horror, her costume is caught on a nail and rips away. In one cool move, Mizuho covers her up with his cloak and kisses her full on the lips, to squeals from the audience. This was just as Mariya enters the hall.

Thus the episode ends with a love triangle. An utterly confused takako who does nothing to Mizuho, surprising him, and a Mariya who is left muttering to herself that she likes Mizuho.

Thoughts

Seriously, the scene between Mizuho and Mariya kissing was a total surprise to me. Mariya and takako blushing had me laughing right through the whole episode. Admit it. You like blushing girls too.

All the kissing scenes were definitely very well done.

Takako is now confused whether she is les, while Mariya is totally jealous. This should build up to a very wonderful ending. I hope the last 2 episodes don’t let me down.

Even though I believe it’s a Takako ending, I’ll still cheer Mariya on though. poor girl. I don’t blame her selfishness for wanting the old Mizuho back.
