Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is an insanely hilarious anime. What do you expect with such a name. A warning though… the humour is really those kind where you like it or you don’t. Something like how kyoshiro was. I can recommend it though. Think insane gag type.

In the year 300X AD, the age in which Earth was to be ruled by the Margarita Empire had come. The emperor, Tsuru Tsururiina IV, in order to make everyone in the world be bald, sent out an army of hair hunters. Hair hunting was going on all over the place.

Even today, Hair Hunter Block G under squad leader Pikari was rampaging through a village. One after another, they attacked the villagers and used their “hair cutting martial arts” and cut off everyone’s hair. Meanwhile, a little girl named Beauty was watching these events unfold. However, she was found by Pikari. She had her hair almost taken when a whip like thing came flying and took Pikari down. Beauty was somehow able to get away. That long whip was actually a long nose-hair controlled by a man named Bo~bobo Bobobo~bo. He has been travelling around the world destroying the Hair Hunters. Upon arriving at the Block G headquarters, Bo~bobo suddenly enters a battle against Captain Haagen. Bo~bobo uses his special nose hair attacks but Haagen does not hesitate in countering Bo~bobo is faced with a tough situation, but…

Afro…. insanely powerful boogers and nose hair… that should give you some kind of idea as to what kind of anime you’ll be getting if you watch this right?

The animation is pretty good in terms of colors and crazy character designs. Music is a mix of your typical anime stuff and jazz stuff. Don’t talk about plots though… cause this anime is just pure randomness. (to me anyway, and that’s not a bad thing. Think kyoshiro again) One frequent feature are the parodies of the Toho, Toei, and Nikkatsu logos. (do this companies look familiar you otaku!)

I guess if you like Kyoshiro… or some older anime like Azumanga Daioh or FCLC, you’ll probably be interested in this.

It’s currently showing in the US on cartoon network. Check out the Official Website!

If you want though, the DVDs are available from Illumitoon too. In fact, as a sign that they actually listen to consumers, Illumitoon issued a “Trade-in” program that will allow anyone who bought the Dubtitled versions to send there DVD in and get the Japanese Subtitled version. That’s a lot better, since some of the jokes in the anime were kinda changed when dubbed. So the “dubtitles” just seemed weird.

Real insane funny anime. Old. But insanely funny. Check out the Official Website!

I saw this on TV from time to time but never paid any attention to it because it looked odd.
I should probably sit down and watch an episode properly.

It really depends on your taste. Some people will find it utterly hilarious, some won’t be interested in it at all.

Indeed. I find that it’s a show that’s too random for many, but it works for me. :3
