Lucky Star - ep12

Visit to Comiket, Cosplay, Miko girls. Do you need more?

Konata attempts to recruit Miyuki to go for Comiket, but Kagami pours cold water, having gone with her before. Pretty much setting the tone for the episode.

Kagami is writing new year cards, and checks with Konata regarding how she had previously said that a member of a family had passed away, and skipped school. But as excepted, it’s a blatant lie.

Anyway, Konata is doing spring cleaning, with the wise words of how you always want to clean when there’s nothing to do, but once you start, it’s such a chore.

Good friends are always good friends. The twins end up accompanying Konata. Incredibly packed train is a sign of things to come.

Like any good leader, Konata gives out all the orders. Directions and maps are provided, as well as instructions as to what to buy. Supplies are also given out, including cash.

Kagami performs satisfactory, although she is still hesitant to buy. Tsukasa fails totally, being pushed by crowd to another building.

Kagami cannot resist looking at a doujin of Gauron and Sousuke. Runs away when asked if she would like to buy it.

A sign of Konata’s fame is how desperate they are for Konata to buy their stuff. A sale to konata would lead to incredible wealth. Too bad for the 2 who skipped work to complete their doujin, only for konata to not buy anything.

Finally everybody gathers back for lunch, with the afternoon assigned as casual browsing.

Akira makes her appearance. As a cut-out. Promptly gets knocked over and bent.

Ethical battle between booth owners. What should be sold to a customer after limited items are sold out.  Kyon and Sousuke cards are hardest to sell…

Miko girls…

Konata is absolutely energetic. Something taught to her by her father when visiting temples.

Intense praying by Kagami to get into the same class as everyone else. Intense teasing of Kagami by Konata with respect to that, especially how Kagami always gets riled up.

Konata ends up with a very bad fortune, as compared to the good one her father got. But Tsukasa will always have words of consolation for everyone.

Now… what if fortunes became a collectible card instead….

Time for Kagami to give a lesson on origins of her name. Very noble and dreamy background, but why did Kagami turn out so pragmatic.

Konata’s father more or less forces her to be a slave before finally getting her new year money.  Money that Konata is all for spending.

Konata wants to know why a Pochi bag is called that. Her father gives her an answer, but Konata does not trust, and ends up calling Miyuki who gives an identical answer.

Time to play games again, and as usual, Kuroi sensei is online. No-life.

Thoughts

Kagami looking at Doujin has to be the best scene so far in the series.

I was expecting a totally explosive Lucky channel, haha, but didn’t expect Akira to be sick, and it was still so funny! Can’t wait for next week’s lucky channel.

Great touch of reality infuse into the episode, i’m sure plenty of people would love this one.
