Lucky Star – ep11

More talk and less action is what this episode about. If you take public transport alot, this episode should tickle you plenty.

Continuing from last episode’s falling star, Miyuki gives a very honest assessment of wishing upon a lucky star, much to Konata’s anguish.

The conversation soon focuses on traveling. Or rather, falling asleep and missing your stop. Horror story being Konata’s father who repeated the cycle of sleep, miss stop, falls asleep, train reaches end and change direction, miss stop, fall asleep. Until he totally doesn’t know which direction he is traveling in anymore.

Of course, equal are the stories of falling asleep and leaning on the person next to you. Konata proceeds to sleep and lean on guy next to her, until she finally rushes up at what she thought was her stop. By the time she realises she was wrong, seat was already taken.

Konata studies the most she has ever. Kagami feels like she has not studied at all. Time studied by both? 4 Hours each.

Konata will spend Christmas with guys.

Not dates though, but working at her cosplay cafe. Talking about costumes….. Kagami and Tsukasa cosplays…. kinda anyway, as shrine maidens. Apparently a very superstitious duo who visits all temples and churches. Thus guaranteeing presents during Christmas, after believing in all Gods.

Cousin Yui. Best person to give feedback about lame police dramas.

Should kids be given martial arts training? Protecting them against criminals. But they will grow up to be strong, possibly becoming criminals as well.

Poor fang teacher. All lonely and single. Just like left over christmas cakes.

Miyuki’s bust size is to be jealous of. Not her grades.

Kagami and Konata always have the most exciting things to talk about. Cooking instant noodles for example.

Konata is in for a scolding after coming home from work late. But her father is too touched to do anything after she presents him his christmas present. At the same time, Cousin Yui comes in all drunk. Instant cure when husband says he actually wanted to meet her and give her a surprise.

Lonely fang.

Winter is a time for static charges. Amazing phenomenon.

Lucky Channel

Akira promises to make an appearance in the next episode! Big chance. But hey…. hasn’t someone else been featuring in episodes for a long time already?

ED is  Doraemon theme song by Tsukasa and Miyuki. They sounded really lovely.

Thoughts

A little slow on the action, maybe too slow. But it definitely has some good moments, like the lonely over the hill teacher, and having konata showing off some martial arts moves.

This episode is heavily dependant on the viewer being able to empathize with what the show discusses though, i think.  Much less moe moments. haha
