Final episode. A weird conclusion to a mysterious series.

Setsuna saves the falling Kuu and Kyoshiro. Even as Kyoshiro rambles on, Kuu says that she can save the world, which she does. Everyone is reunited with their partner. Cept for poor setsuna.

Even Kazuya has Meginjord. But as Kuu destroys Bastillus to save the world, there’s a price to pay… her own disappearance, since she’s linked to Bastillus. Long scene of farewell, including a pinky promise to meet each other again. (If this scene was done by Kyoani, you would be crying, but unfortunately as it’s in this series, you’ll just want to fast forward). Kuu tries not to cry out as pain over takes her, but finally does so in the last sec. This causes Kyoshiro to turn around, but ends up grabbing feathers only.

Thus everything is wrapped up. Kazuya is a vegetable, taken care of by Meginjord. Kyoshiro chooses to go seek out Kuu. Setsuna chooses to follow him, cutting off her own trademark hair. Sojiro is still tortured by the cat, while you can image what happens to Himeko and Kaon.

Thoughts

How did kazuya survive? I thought he got stamped on. At which point I thought he died. But he appeared again. Then he got whacked. But didn’t die again. Amazing.

The series concluded with Kyoshiro finding a 10 yr old Kuu. (10 years later, sufficient time for Setsuna’s hair to grow long again) Which I think is a scene the series could do without. There’s about 20 yrs difference between them! And what about poor Setsuna.

I think this series is one of those where you watch and forget. It’s interesting for it’s mix of very confusing and weird stuff. Not to mention a very cute but weird Kuu. But if you take the series too seriously, you wouldn’t enjoy the show at all. Just watch it and let if flash past you.

Character design is good though. Relations between the different character sufficiently built up in such a short series. Poor mecha implementation. Lots of plot holes. And it would be nice to know how the relationship between all the characters grew in the first place. (like how Mika met Kaon)

Favorite character remain as Setsuna. First her character design was just too pretty. Her role as a one having a one sided love added more brownie points. It’ll be nice to see what other series Kuu’s seiyuu will be involved in though.

    :O…

Kyoshiro goes pedo on kuu?? Kuu should’ve remained on their memories… that would have been a happy ending for me :(

Definitely too many plot holes. Heck even at the end with Himiko’s real name!! There are just too many elements left unsolved throughout the series and that’s what makes it so confusing. The whole finding Kuu after 10 years just seems too weird for me.

Some said Himiko’s real name is himiko. er. HUH!?! haha. Anyway, what’s with this real name thing as well. What am i missing. Gah! Anyway, the whole series epitomises weirdness.

@yume: yeah. the show should really have ended with the credits. And not show anymore.

Tedfox, if you havn’t realized this yet in the year after you had posted that comment, it’s widely believed that Himiko and Kaon are reincarnations of Chikane and Himeko in Kannazuki no Miko (which was created by the same guy), which is what those ‘real name” references are about.
