Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora - ep 09
“Strong, gentle, handsome. And always returning triumphantly.” That has got to be one of the most egoistic phrase I’ve seen in recent times in an anime. And that’s who Kazuya is, who pretty much returns to grab control of all the absolute angels.
Setsuna intervenes when Kazuya asks Kuu to leave with him. Waruteishia then sends a stream of mana to Setsuna, which reminds her of how Kyoshiro still chose Kuu. She then launches an attack on Kazuya, but we find out that kazuya now has the powers of Absolute Angles as well, and is not harmed.
We find out that Kazuya gained his powers when he was flooded with the purest of mana during the explosion, and evolved. In fact, Kazuya was the one who awakened the absolute angels in the first place. He had accidentally saved Kyoshiro, when all he felt was that Kyoshiro was in his way.
Kuu is actually cielo, the body of Megingjord, the absolute angel that Waruteshia commands, and they were split during the awakening. They combine, and Setsuna is easily slashed and taken out of the picture by Waruteishia.
Kyoshiro is revealed to be the fool that he is, while Setsuna is taken away.Of course, Kuu leaves with Kazuya, already forgetting who Kyoshiro is.
Next up, Mika. Mika blasts Kazuya with a device used to seal absolute angels. She recalls about how Kazuya used to steal her friends, her everything, and is determined not to let him take his Kaon.
Kaon jumps into the seal to attack Kazuya, causing pain to herself as well. Waruteshia then releases Himeko who was actually bonded by Mika. Himeko jumps into the same seal and after some argument between Kaon and Himeko, Himeko ends up kissing her. Somehow, this causes Kaon to go unconscious, after which she’s taken by Waruteshia.
Mika shoots a gun at Kazuya to little effect, who pierces Mika with his power. After that, he proceeds to destroy the entire residence of Mika.
While dying, Mika reveals to Himeko why she hates her, that she too wanted Kaon’s love. While still hating Himeko, Mika passes the sealing device to Himeko, asking her to save Kaon.
Meanwhile, Kuu is seeing enjoying with Kazuya, while Kyoshiro is left alone clutching Kuu’s invitation letter.
Thoughts
I kinda thought this episode was a good mix of nonsense and plot advancement. Nonsense in terms of the powers that Kazuya had, things like that. The plot was quite good as well, revealing how things ended up in this state. You can’t take this series too seriously though.
I actually prefer Kazuya to Kyoshiro. I guess Kyoshiro is just too stupid and blind for my taste. Heck, even Mika knows Kazuya’s true colours. I would like to see what happens to Sojiro next. He is one of the more likeable normal characters.
