Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora - ep 08
Whoa. For the first time, the episode didn’t start off with Kuu talking to her prince. That’s like the major surprise of the episode. Something feels wrong about the episode though, but I can’t quite pinpoint what it is. At least all the sparkles are back.
As I kinda expected, Kyoshiro rejects Kuu, calls her an idiot, and riding on his horse, flees the house. Of course Kuu ends up leaving the house as well, mingling amongst the festival. Setsuna was smart enough not to stop any of them as she watched from the roof as well. At least Kuu’s classmates haven’t forgotten about her.
Kyoshiro takes a dip in the river to think things through. Kuu meanwhile realizes how pretty the town looks with all the sparkles, and somehow manages to walk off the roof of the building trying to reach the sparkles. Luckily for her, she’s in an anime, and Kyoshiro arrives just in time to grab hold of her.
Love confession from Kyoshiro for the longest time. Kuu’s not stupid either, and asks about the problem of her being an absolute angel. Kyoshiro then reveals that he has talked through with his older brother in his heart for the longest time, and his gentle brother wouldn’t mind.
Back at Mika’s residence, Mika seems to have entered a locked shrine, in preparations for big things. She also tells whatshername (sorry
) to give Kaon all her mana. Another sad confession by the girl, but Kaon grabs hold of her when she leaves, though Kaon was supposed to be sleeping. She ends up leaning and kissing Kaon, giving her lots of Mana anyway.
Back @ Kyoshiro’s. Kyoshiro sees Kuu’s “invitation”, and says that he will accept it. But not yet, for he has to break things off with Setsuna first. Setsuna of course arrives to hear all of this, and breaks out into the saddest Noooooooo.
At this moment in time, Kyoshiro’s brother suddenly appears, whom Kuu recognizes as her prince. Kyoshiro leaps into his arms, only for the brother to give him a super punch. Reaching out to Kuu, the older brother simply tells her “Let’s go, together.”
Thoughts
Obviously things click very slowly in my brain. Only now do I realise that the older brother is Kuu’s prince because He worked in the lab that created Kuu. Doh!
I’m a bad judge of the quality of animation quality. That said, while the animation was normal per se, I really suffered from seeing too much panning of still shots in this episode. Never mind all the recap scenes.
As a Setsuna supporter, I must say Kyoshiro sucks. Setsuna seems destined to be an eternal loser. Losing all fights, and now for all the evil things that Kyoshiro has done for her, she’s going to lose Kyoshiro as well. (which actually is a good thing). Even the ring of her bell sounds sad now.
In terms of the whole series, new exciting things keep being introduced. Except. They don’t develop any of the these exciting things! I hope it’s the end with the introduction of the brother, and they can finally get down to developing the story line, which I was so eager for previously.
