This time round, Kuu goes at least half the episode with her top removed and exposed. At least we do find out why Kyoshiro had stripped her top off at the very beginning of the series.

Mika uses a katana and cuts open Kuu’s uniform, and reveals her Absolute Angel (AA) symbol on her chest. This awakens some memories from the past, and also causes her to go into shock and faint. While unconscious, she starts to imagine that everything was a dream to begin with. But suddenly the images of Setsuna and Kyoshiro coming after her surface.

 Mika’s plan is for Kuu to fuse with Kaon to provide her “sword” with more powers. With Kuu’s weak mind, fusing would not be a problem.  At the same time, we see Mika struggling with actually providing Kaon with Mana, and in fact has to take medication for it. She rants on about wanting to get Kaon’s love, for Kaon is her sword. (disillusioned about Kaon’s love).

Meanwhile, just as the process to start the fusing starts, setsuna arrives with Tarurotte. All these while, Setsuna had been executing the plan to lure Tarurotte there. As the fight begins, we find out that Kyoshiro had said that normally, Kaon would have used up all her Mana fighting at such a high level. Hence Setsuna should just need to fight until an abnormality happens to Kaon.

Kyoshiro soon arrive on his horse and takes hold of Kuu. Mika points a gun at Kyoshiro, and a rant about Kyoshiro’s brother being evil and hated begins. It ends with a shot fired at Kyoshiro, which he blocks with his swords’ sabre.

At this point, Kaon reaches a dangerous level of Mana. Setsuna escapes with Kyoshiro and Kuu, so does Taturotte. However, Kaon actually “shut down”. Mika isn’t happy about it, as she feels that Kaon did it to protect Himiko, while Himiko argues that Kaon did it to protect Mika. Mika is unhappy about where Kaon’s love is directed.

Elsewhere, Kyoshiro ignores Setsuna’s pleas for Mana. The episode ends with Kuu letting Kyoshiro know about all her feelings, about how happy she was when Kyoshiro said “let’s go together” and how her tears can’t stop now.

Thoughts.

Ok. Kyoshiro is now a total jerk. How can he ignore Setsuna like that at the end. And knowing that Kuu was an AA, what did he plan to do. Kill her in the end?

Anyway, the “type” of series this series is seems to have changed. Initally, the attraction was how it was a whole jumble of junk. But now, the plot seems really really strong. I’m hooked that’s for sure on the plot now.

Oh, and I was wrong about Kuu being the 4th AA. She’s the 5th. The 4th just hasn’t made her appearance yet.

 Lots of relationship subplots are forming now. Kuu and everybody. Himiko and Kaon. Kaon and Mika. Mika and Kyoshiro (and the whole family). This series is definitely developing very strongly.
