Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora - ep 05
This episode was quite well done in my opinion. In terms of animation and story. We finally find out why everybody is after Kuu, who is kidnapped again, even as life seems to go back to some kind of peacefullness.
Kuu is trying to bake a cake on her own, even as Setsuna is away on a scouting mission. Even as Setsuna returns, Kuu is seen falling and making a mess of the kitchen. This of course results in a bath scene. As usual, Kuu asks Setsuna sensitive questions, who hesitates in answering. She is saved from answering when Kyoshiro calls for her.
Kuu appears to ask that she be allowed to go shopping, prefably alone without setsuna since all the problems in the kitchen was caused by her alone. Kyoshiro instead decides that they should all go together. This makes Kuu very happy, but Setsuna is left with an unsettled expression.
Switching scene. We see that Kaon has now gained the ability to absorbed mana from anybody. (Apparently previously, they can only do it with pre designated people, like Himiko) At the same time, her mana levels are boosted to over 200%. She leaves to kidnap Kuu, totally expressionless even as Himiko feels even more distant than ever.
Shopping trip leaves Setsuna all jealous, though she doesn’t say anything. Kuu on the other hand is very happy, as everything feels like they were newly-weds out shopping. They even end up choosing the same white horse when choosing a pin to buy.
At a park, Kaon makes her appearance. The battle is short, and Setsuna swiftly defeated. Setsuna pleads for Kyoshiro to replenish her mana. Though Kyoshiro hesitates, he still rushes to Setsuna’s side. This leaves Kuu vulnerable though, and she is snatched away by Kaon.
Mika is introduced as Kyoshiro’s sister, and she forces Himiko to reveal what so special about Kuu. Kissing Kuu, Kuu is suddenly replenished with mana, revealing her as the fourth absolute angel.
The episode closes with Kyoshiro executing a plan to rescue Kuu. Part of the plan involves luring Tetsuna to fight Kaon together.
Thoughts
I’m glad Kyoshiro went to Setsuna during the battle, otherwise he would be a total jerk.
I’m a blockhead, and was wondering who the fourth angel was. And even though I knew Kuu was special, everything did not click together. However, now everything clicks together, including the role of people like Kyoshiro and Himiko in providing Mana. Very interesting if you ask me.
But how can someone as stupid as Kuu be an angel! But you can say my interest in the series has really picked up from here. haha.
cool anime series!
