“GyunGyun” “Gaaa” and “Taaa”. First time I see people directing a show using such terms. The best part was that other people actually understood the director.

Loli gets Loli-er

At the start, we see the reason for why Mei acts the way she does. A traumatising period where she’s voted class rep in elementary school. She thought that people were depending on her. But in actual fact, they were just making use of her.

Fast forward to present. Concept for school festival needed. Manabi can’t think when she’s seated. So after a run where she seems to die, she comes up with the idea to let the students choose the concept. Mei adds in that they should do a promo video. Mei’s best at CG though, so she’s directed by Manabi.

Save us from Manabi Pose again

A trip to ramen place again. However, a joke by Manabi about Mei joining the school council, and how Manabi would thus not be needed, evokes memories of elementry school trauma. Mei proceeds to walk out on them.

Not so Loli anymore

With Mei walking out, the rest of them are at a total loss as to what to do. However, Manabi is determined to finish what they started, in order to prove that they were not just making use of Mei.

Help! Nobody told me you needed computers to do CG!

In the end, Mutsuki visits Mei at her house, something she hasn’t done in ages. The conversation doesn’t go well, but before leaving, Mutsuki tells that everybody is still laboring about the promo video that Mei started creating.

There’s something about Mei that looks entire different

Mei ends up hacking into the computers she set up, and through a spy cam, sees everybody working, even at 2am. Accessing the files, she sees prove of them working, even if it’s a mess.

Midway though, she catches Manabi giving another speech again, about what she thinks of Mei. And Manabi talks about why she thinks Mei attends High school, and about how Manabi wants to be Mei’s friend. Mei is so moved that she ends up completing the CG, and sneaking it into the computer.

It wasn’t the Little men you toot.

All ends well. Even when the presentation encounters an error, Mei makes a dramatic entrace to fix it all.

Mei finally joins the student council

 Thoughts

This was easily the best episode for me so far. There was one part where they displayed the rubbish that Manabi and Mutsuki achieved for CG, and I splattered saliva all over my monitor, even though by right I shouldn’t have been too surprised.

Lots of good jokes if you ask me, in this episode. The level of humour definitely didn’t drop.

I think it was nice to develop Mei’s character, since she’s obviously the most capable. Nice to hear why she acts the way she is, and Aya Hirano definitely did a good job protraying her.
