Manabi Straight! - ep 03
Are you sure Manabi is not an Ayu-clone? Why, she even developed wings in this episode. 
So Seiou’s high’s school council is getting a revival, where every club is trying to get it to help out, including the violin? club. At the same time, Manabi organizes a inter-school dodge ball competition in order to increase cooperation between different school councils.
A sudden pull out means that Mei who “happens to be passing by”, becomes the main coach and player. The actual turn out was actually good, with 5 other schools. Seiou ain’t very good, but they did have lots of fun, especially Mika.
Manabi even met up with Takako who visited in episode 2. We find out that the surprise look from last ep was because of how the room was decorated. Nothing special.
After the dodge ball, Manabi wanted to just eat and make merry with the other council officers. However, everybody else felt that The dodgeball was enough to build relations, and that it’s time to discuss things properly. Takako ends up saving the day, by suggesting a discussion on school festival, and ended up leading the discussion, which Manabi could not contribute to at all.
A visit to the ramen shop later, and Mika worries for Manabi. In fact, Manabi had pretty much lost her confidence, and decides that they should visit Takako the next day to see how the school festival is organised.
Everybody is very impressed with how Takako’s school organized the school festival. Including Mika who pretty much falls in love with her.
Lesbian Alert!
All confidence drains from Manabi, who even skips dinner. But even as she draws on a notebook, inspiration strikes her, and she drags everybody to meet her in school. Another totally inspiring speech from Manabi about how they do not need to copy Takako’s school at all, but should do whatever they want.*cheers*
Thoughts
Oh man… even I feel inspired and can’t wait to see what kind of school festival they come up with.
The different style of character design really captures your attention. It’s so good that even when shortcuts are taken and it’s just a freeze shot on their cute round faces, you don’t really notice or mind at all. Even IF they do threated to spill over into fanservice at times… (this time during dodgeball)
Kudos to the well inserted humour too. I just couldn’t help but keep laughing, and all the non-laughter periods were just filled with overwhelming cuteness.
