Zero no Tsukaima - Ep 06

Shock of the series: Staff of destruction is actually a LAW launcher. :| And this time round, roles of Louise and Saito got totally reversed. Lousie became the 100% damsel in distress, while Saito became uber cool.

bscap0715.jpgEverybody is in the classroom, but there isn’t any classes going on because of the case of Fouquet. Kirche is feeding Saito, which Saito is very happy about. This earns him a beating from Louise. At this point, Kirche mentions about how the blame for what happened can be place on Henrietta.

Louise and Tabitha are called into the headmaster’s office. Apparently, there have been reports of a suspicious person in an abadoned house deep in the forests. Longueville produces a sketch from these reports, and both Louise and Tabitha identifies her as Fouquet.

bscap0719.jpgOsmond decides that asking the palace for help to capture the thieves would take too long, but none of the mages present are willing to go capture Fouquet. However, Louise volunteers, while Kirche decides not to lose out to Louise. Tabitha follows along, as she’s worried about the 2, and Longueville volunteers to be their guide.

bscap0726.jpgbscap0725.jpgAlong the trip, we discover that not all magic users are nobles, and you can be striped of nobility. In fact, Longueville is one of them, though she does not reveal why she was stripped. Utterly bored, Kirche cuddles up to Saito, hence another argument with Louise. She presents Saito with the golden sword, and when Louise “seemed to give permission”, he accepted it gleefully.

Arriving at the Abandoned house, Longueville says she’ll go scout out the area around, while Louise stays outside to guard their backs. Inside, there seems to be no clues, but surprisingly, Tabitha finds the staff of destruction.

bscap0730.jpgThen the golem appears. Both Tabitha and Kirche fire off jets of wind and fire at it, to no effect. Tabitha is forced to call up her Slyph. Outside, Louise is determined to fight the golem, but only succeeds in throwing little sparks on the golem. But she refuses to run, because she’s a noble, and a noble does not run.

Saito narrowly saves her before she gets flattened by the golem. When Louise scolds Saito and asks him not to get into the world, he slaps her, saying that nobility won’t matter if she was dead. This was when Louise starts crying and talks about how she does not want to be made fun of ever again. Saito hands Louise over to Tabitha and Kirche, who just arrived beside them riding Slyph.

bscap0733.jpgSaito is spurred into action, but his very first hit on the golem broke the golden sword. Derfflinger asks that Saito draws him, but Saito is reluctant because he is sure Derfflinger will break too. But Derfflinger insists, and the moment he is drawn, Saito’s rune lights up. And well… Saito gets powerful, and starts chopping off the golem’s limbs, but the golem is able to regenerate.

bscap0736.jpgFor some reason, Louise decides to join in the action, and taking the box with the staff of destruction, jumps right into the it. She opens the box to reveal a green tube, but has no idea how to use it. But Saito recognises it, runs over and takes it in his hands, and his rune lights up again. He operates it to reveal a LAW launcher, and he fires off a projectile at the golem, destroying the head, (and the golem)

bscap07391.jpgAt this time, Longueville returns, and reveals herself to be Fouquet. Picking up the Law launcher, she asks them not to move. She reveals that she had no idea how to use the Staff, and was hoping that someone from the academy would come and reveal its usage. She was disappointed when it was only three students, but as expected from the Gundolf, Saito knew how to use it. But when she tries to use it.. nothing happens, and Saito uses the opportunity to knock her unconscious. Saitor reveals that it’s a weapon from his own world, and it’s a one-time usage weapon.

bscap0743.jpgBack at the academy, Saito wants to ask Osmond a few questions. Osmond reveals that when he was young and battling a monster, a man had appeared, and fired one Staff at the monster. Though Osmond healed the man, he still passed away later. But he had Two Staff with him, one was buried together with him, the other given to the Palace.

Saito wasn’t too happy, as he still hasn’t found out anything about how to return to his own world. At the dance party that night, Saito remains by the window, sulking. But Louise enters, looking absolutely stunning in her gown. Louise even asks to dance with Saito. Louise says that she now believes when Saito says that he comes from another world. But is quite sad when Saito says that he still wants to return to his own world. Louise thanks Saito for what he did, but Saito replies that it was what he’s supposed to do, since he is her Familar.

Thoughts

This is what happens when you keep bullying someone. You drive that person to do insane things. Like Louise, who just kept doing dangerous things.

Why the academy would deem it fit to send three students against a triangle mage is beyond me. I thought Osmond himself would go up against Fouquet. The LAW launcher was entirely unexpected though, and we shall see if there are any more “earthly” things turning up. teehee.

Louise will be cosplaying in the next episode.. that would be… interesting. :D
