The mikka tororo tasted good ~Kokichi Tsuburaya

So Welcome to the NHK has come to an end. It has been an interesting ride, examining different social issues of the Japanese society.

I thought the series really grew from strength to strength with each episode. I had a headache watching the first few episodes with each appearance of the mascot for conspiracy. This was more due to the effects and the way it kept going imbou imbou imbou. The chant was seriously irritating to me. Thus I feared Sato’s mental attacks, cause the stupid mascot will appear.

I’ve got an extremely pessimistic outlook at life, so I loved the series, and I guess it actually makes you examine your own outlook towards life, with different story arcs for different people.

My favorite character was Misaki. That’s even though her story arc came only at the last 2-3 episodes, but I already liked her from the beginning. At first I thought it was her character design. Then I thought it was her voice, which I especially fell in love in when I heard the second ED. (voice actress is Makino Yui)

Then when her story arc started, I realised I really identified with her because of who she is. Loneliness. Suicide survivor, thus suicidal tendencies. The perverse joy of helping others because in that way, to be able to feel being needed by others.

I don’t have a lot of imagination. so I can’t come to believe in God like other people. All He has to do to erase my doubt is to create some miracle in front of me. If he does that, then I would start believing in Him… If I believed… I could say that He is the one to blame for everything. Then… I could finally e sure that it’s not my fault…

I’m quite happy that all things ended well from Misaki.

People said that the animation quality dropped midway, before getting okie for the last few episodes. Personally, I didn’t really notice any animation drop, so it couldn’t have been too bad. I must have been too absorbed in the story.

The anime series as a whole is not as dark as the manga itself. I think it had a pretty good balance actually.

I give it high marks for being different from your typical anime stories! and for Misaki!

I’m gonna download NHK when Oyasumi releases their batch torrent.. Just curious, is the piano piece on this page from the series? I’m a big fan of piano music and if it is, I’m so gonna download the OST ^_^

I actually preferred toybox’s. Because the quality of the raw they use is better. haha. I’m not sure about the translation though.

Yeah. I loved this piano piece. It’s the piano version for the second ED, and is available in the OST.

Song title is Modokashii sekai no ue de
