Utawarerumono – ep 14
Hakuorro’s party gains yet another character: Touka. (Was there any doubt that this would happen)
An interesting episode in the sense that it was filled with battles, yet at the sametime, you get a hint of why the emperor of Yue wants to keep attacking the kingdom of tsukuru. Most of the battle scenes were kept short however, mostly just to advance the plot. Karura remains the main strenght of the army, fighting of armies of shikeripetim all by herself. (The series still feels like a game. haha)
It was nice to see Hakuorro finally fight by himself too. (Wish he’ll make Niwe stop laughing)
The army of Shikeripetim is doing repeated raids again. The casualties sustained by Hakuorro are high, even though they are winning most of the battles. As a much smaller nation, they seem unable to sustain such a prolonged conflict, even with continuous battle wins.
But Hakuorro requests for the rest of them to trust in him, for his has a plan, though he cannot reveal it yet.
The emperor of Yue seems to be gathering men with aggression, and seems to have something magical to do with them. Of course, hakuorro is the one who excites him the most, and is his number 1 target. All these raids are just to provoke Hakuorro. He talks about ingridients, and visits the prison, where he proclaims the people as “developing well”. No idea what sort of plans he has for them though.
The emperor of Yue finally sends a large percentage of his army to attack. Hakuorro reveals his plan as invading Yue when all his armies are out, thus hoping to kill the emperor of Yue. But though the invading army is large, it still isn’t the full army yet, and they are forced to hold out for one more time. They succeed, although at a cost of high civilian casualties.
At one point, Hakuorro and erurru is leading a bunch of civilians to escape, but is blocked by a shikeripetim army. Touka arrives to rescue them, joining their party, because of the kindness Hakuorro has shownto her. At the same time, on hearing the cries of a child, eruru rushes into a house, only to see a mom trapped under burning debris, with the child crying. She tries to rescue the mom, with hakuorro coming to help. But whenthe building collapses, hakuorro pulls both eruru and the child out of the house. I guess this is where they personally come into contact with the consequences of war.
Is eruru going to adopt the child??
After the battle, Hakuorro finally strives to attack the Kingdom of Yue. Bringing Touka and Karura with him, with Benawi in charge of defending the castle.
