Sumomomo Momomo – ep 06

It’s a S & M episode this week! + soccer + nekko. Yet another assassin goes after Koushi, this time a soccer maniac tiger.

The episode starts off with a guy challenging Saigo to a fight. Saigo and 3 friends arrive to see a field of sprawled students. Actually, the guy is looking for Koushi… but easily defeat Saigo anyway. The guy’s Koganei Tenka.

Back to Koushi and momoko…..

“You left without me….”
“I’m so sorry!!! Please whip me!”

In school, Koushi is trying to avoid Momoko, and ends up in the library studying. Sanae comes to make small talk with him, the type of “matured conversation” that he likes to have. They are interrupted Koganei appears. Sanae plays the part of the damsel perfectly, but steps between Koganei and Koushi. Faced with such a situation, Koganei has no choice but to leave.

Outside, Momoko runs straight into Koganei. Surprise! Koganei knows momoko. Unfortunately, though Koganei manages to blurt out about how pretty momoko is, Momoko has zilch idea of who he is. And obviously, she doesn’t remember the promised made that was written on his soccer ball. (about marriage)

with an expression liddat, even Koushi forgives

Meanwhile, Iroha’s gas and water is cut. But it’s okie…. cooking up an excuse, she drags Hanzo to go see Koushi. At the same time, outside the school, Koganei’s all depressed. But his ball, Becky, convinced him to Try again!

In school, Sanae is passing Koushi back his notebook. But Momoko sees! and she actually gets jealous and snatches the notebook!

Guess where Momoko hides the book

This results in a general raping of momoko by Koushi in search of the book and the return of Koganei

In explanation, Momoko tells Koganei that her body and soul belongs to Koushi. This earns her a scolding for saying ambiguous things. Her response? To say outright that they are getting married.

Koganei challenges Koushi to a duel. Of course, Koushi’s mouth is his best weapon, and he calls Koganei a coward! for challenging Koushi to something he totally doesn’t know. Instead, Koushi points to his soccer ball, and the duel is fixed

Koushi’s quite glad that they’re the duel is using soccer penalty kicks. Firstly, he won’t get injured. Secondly, he will rid himself of Momoko as well. MISCALCULATION. Firstly, koganei’s kicks are strong enough to kill. Secondly, the loser has to commit seppeku.

I was expecting one of the harem girls to interfere at this point. But comes the killer quote by momoko.

“I will not interfere in a duel between men”

Meanwhile, Iroha decides to continue watching from far to gauge Koushi’s true strength, while Sanae continues to whimper.

A plan by Koushi to push momoko to Koganei and thus walk away from the match fails horribly, after Koganei is too shy to accept.

Finally with the score 2-0, and Koganei’s turn to kick again…. Koushi realises how doomed he is, and starts whimping out. Koganei gives Koushi a final ultimatum to kneel before him.

Just as Koushi is about to fall to his knees, Momoko dramatically rushes forward hugging him and preventing him from doing so. Momoko implores him, saying that if he does so, he’ll lose something precious inside of him.

Koushi-dono!

Thus sparks to revival of Koushi. Everyone is very happy for him… especially Iroha.

Finally… using his brain, Koushi remembers that Koganei is a Tiger… thus a cat. Running off, he brings in bottles of stuff, used to scare away cats. Koganei ends up messing the shot. A mixture of other tricks like catnip results in Koushi actually winning.

In the end though, Koushi prevented Koganei from committing seppeku, citing that it’s illegal. Koushi starts questioning Koganei about the plans to assassinate him…. till the next episode!

Thoughts

I didn’t expect other clans to come out. I thought this would be a 12 episode thing, but I seriously wouldn’t mind if they dragged this anime over two seasons… I really like it!

And his harem didn’t interfere! I was expecting some animal power to appear from nowhere to block the balls. haha. In the end… Koushi’s solution was…. kinda lame. but smart.

I actually loved this episode alot. Less sexual innuendoes. haha. I actually smiled alot when Momoko came out to hug Koushi, rather than laughing wildly. What a surprise change.

Awaiting the catfight between the three girls though. I’m interested to see how Sanae’s cosplay actually fights.
