Shoot. Even though the jokes were fairly cheesy and predictable, I just couldn’t stop myself from laughing right through the entire episode! A date to the zoo, and the very first assassination attempt on Koushi. Be thrilled by the giant polar bear.

There’s nothing better to start off the episode with yet another of Momoko’s attempt to get laid. This time she uses the excuse of being cold, but Koushi totally rejects her as expected, throwing her a warmer instead.

In school, the gangster trio are going on about how Saigo had gone to the zoo. Being the ganster Saigo is, he probably went there with some ulterior motive. But actually, Saigo just likes cute animals. Momoko overhears them, and decides to ask Koushi out to the zoo.

Koushi rejects her though, leaving momoko crying on the floor. Even sanae comes over to ask what’s wrong. The class guys also name Koushi as simply the worst, even though he tries to explain things away. Under peer pressure, the zoo trip is on!

After school, Momoko starts preparing a love bento for Koushi. Along the way, she manages to start fantasizing about Koushi coming on to her at the zoo. Momoko ends up moaning on the chopping board, much to Koushi’s horror when he returns.

For the zoo trip itself, the animals remind Koushi of all the assassins who are about to kill him. Even as Momoko happily feeds the rabbits, Koushi ends up being “attacked” by the rabbits instead.

What happened to Momoko’s fantasy though? Even as she lays on the grass in total anticipation, Koushi does not do anything at all. Although there’s the consolation that he said that the bento was good though. Totally disappointment by Momoko.

Suddenly, the spot a throng of animals running away. Koushi senses danger, and wants to run as well, but then they spot a bunch of monkeys bullying a little girl. Koushi tries to comfort her about how animals are not scary, since humans will always triumph over animals. However, behind him, a giant polar bear appears.

Momoko decides to engage the polar bear, revealing that she has defeated 39 brown bears when she was 9. The polar bear is exceptionally quick, but even as it swipes at Momoko, it ends up dealing ZERO damage, but breaking all it’s claws instead. Even as it throws its entire weight onto Momoko, no damage is done either.

Actually, the bear was sent by assassins and fed secret medicine. Seeing how strong Momoko is, they feed the bear with a pill that’s 500 times the concentration. The bear grows larger, and even the claws grow back.

It manages to throw momoko aside, and looks to have drowned her. Koushi is thus left to run for his life. But Momoko ain’t dead, and of course uses her martial arts, and totally defeats the bear, taming the bear instead.

Of course, the assassins are revealed to be iroha and her brother. She swears to kill him with her own hands next time. But as we all know, probably will fall in love with him instead.

Thoughts

Definitely my favorite anime this season behind Kanon. The humour is just totally hilarious.

I must especially comment on the expressions, they were just so well done. Examples were Momoko’s look to Koushi when she started lying down on the grass for him to come onto her. All the bear expressions as well… all elicited big laughter from me.

Realized this anime is done by Studio Hibari. The same company did tsuokiss, which i just finished watching, and strangely, enjoyed as well. So looks like this will be another favorite of mine.

The harem should be completed soon! I’m just waiting to see how Iroha ends up joining the same school. Competition between the three girls will be hilarious as well.
