Figurine: 1/6 Onda Aka from Rec

Experimented with a photoshoot of a figurine I bought from Urban Attic recently. Didn’t turn out too well, but it did let me play around with my camera which I hardly do. Maybe more patience and better technique next time.

The box comes in a tantalising design, covering what she’s wearing. (more reasons later)

It’s Aka with her studio headphones, dressed in a bathrobe. She stands on one leg on a custom base.

No fears of leaning (i hope) though… support stand provided. (it’s not possible for her to stand WITHOUT the stand)

Yup, the bathrobe can be removed, thus the design of the box. My bathrobe didn’t join very well as a result though. No such photos without the bathrobe though!

Thoughts

The bathrobe is a mixture of white and light pink. Is that good or bad? I can’t decide. I thought it gave a pretty faded look, like it’s been in the sun for too long.

There were also some defects at the hair too. Did I mention, this is my first 1/6 figure. Maybe I’m not used to it, with excessive details… but I thought the figure had a few areas which weren’t done too well.

But hey, I loved Aka from Rec. haha. Kinda bought this on an impulse. I already bookmarked the figure on HLJ, but hadn’t quite decided to buy it yet. Then urban attic’s mailing list showed that it’s out, so what the heck, I ordered it.

Just as well, cause all 3 copies at urban attic were snapped up within a day, and I got the last one. This was a surprise, since I expected Rec to be a pretty obscure anime series. First 1/6 figure, a little out of place with my other 1/8 figurines. The price was a little out of place with my budget too.

Bought from Urban Attic for S$ 119, which is a few dollars more if I ordered from HLJ and shipped by EMS. -shrugs- HLJ still has stock if you’re interested.

Now I wonder if i can complete Urban Attic’s stamp card. So many stamps needed. Anybody wanna help? haha.
