Whoa, this series took a 180 degree turn and produced the best episode so far. So much laughs that it’s impossible to list them all. (remember about what I said about focusing on haruhi) I think half the fun came from knowing exactly what’s going to happen, and having it presented to you in an even funnier way.

Where to start… where to start.

The episode starts when the host club visits haruhi’s house. An unshaven guy (ranka) opens the door. The host club immediately reverse, saying that they’ve got the wrong door. Ranka chases after them and rolls them back, introducing himself. Ranka explains that haruhi left with a bunch of girls early that morning. Assuming that they are Ranka’s middle school friends, the host club leaves in disappointment. When suddenly, Ranka mention that the girls are from Lobelia High.

Meanwhile, at Lobelia High, the Zuka club girls are walking through a procession of their fans. Meanwhile, a girl steps up as the one in charge of preparing the bento for that day. She even included Benio’s favourite: Octopus-shaped sausages. Benio replies that she looks like one too, and whether she would like to be eaten instead. (oh my oh my!) Of course this drives everybody wild, turning them all into Octopus sausages.

They finally arrive in their club room, and checks on Haruhi, who has donned on a Lobelia uniform, and absolutely adored by the Zuka club.

Back with Ranka, he is afraid that Haruhi’s first kiss gets stolen. The twins remembers that Tamaki has already taken the first kiss, but is effectively silenced by Tamaki.

Back with Haruhi, she isn’t too happy about being abducted, and likens their actions to what the host club would do. (my sentiments exactly). Benio explains that they simply would like Haruhi to act as the Heroine in their club play, as the original actress was involved in an accident with a motorbike. Haruhi immediately says no. (this part was hilarious)

Just as haruhi leaves, the Zuka girls talk about how Benio’s mother was also part of the Zuka club, and was a very good actress previously. It has always been Benio’s dream to follow in her mom’s footsteps by taking part in this play. If Haruhi leaves, her dream will not be fulfilled. Of course, Haruhi is utterly moves, and agrees.

Meanwhile, outside Lobelia, Ranka is expousing on how if you get corrupted by the Zuka club, you’ll never excapte their clutches. Kyoya mentions that he can’t imagine haruhi being addicted to anything. Ranka adds on that Kotoko(haruhi’s mom), was the same, and wasn’t addicted to any females. The host club guys agree, saying that haruhi must have inherited some of her genes. But Ranka mentions how as he was cleaning the house one day, he came across Kotoko’s treasure trove of Zuka photos. Kotoko was a fan! And by association and genes, haruhi is in danger too. Tamaki immediately decides to infiltraate lobelia, dressed in Lobelia’s uniform. But Ranka kicks Tamaki, accusing him of making fun on cross dressing, and telling the rest that he has an actual plan.

Meanwhile, rehersals for the play is going. Haruhi is restricted to the lines of “Frederique-sama”. (it just sounded so cute! haha let’s say it one more time! Frederique-sama!) To haruhi however, Benio’s character says too much for a dying man. Meanwhile, the host club are spying outside, and are horrified by her lack of acting skills, protraying her as a big Daikon, as well as a robot going “Frederique-sama!”. In fact, they are wondering why nobody has laughed yet.

Suddenly, Haruhi starts singing. The host club are horrified, as Ranka says her music grades were bad. But a beautiful voice comes out instead, and everybody is mesmorised. Suddenly the voice disappears, even though haruhi is still mouthing something. A girl apologises for kicking the cd player’s power cable. Lip Sync!

The host club, wearing Benibara shirts, are called back to practise their greeting of Benio. During their break however, they discover that the Benibaras have prepared a group to Yankee girls, to make sure haruhi doesn’t spoil the whole performance. The host club worry for haruhi, and decides to sneak into the performance auditorium, but does not go un-noticed by Benio. Tamaki promises to protect haruhi.

Meanwhile Kyoya has seperated from the group, and in Ootori’s name, gotten a tour of the control room, where he finds out about a function to display photos as scenery on stage.

The performance starts, and a haruhi with too much make up appears. The host club wants to go and save her, but Ranka points out that her performance seems slightly better, and she seems to be sweating too. Tamaki decides that since haruhi is putting in her own effort, they have no right to stop her, and should just simply watch.

THE kissing scene arrives. But Tamaki remembers hearing that the play is about Frederique exacting revenge. Benio, playing the role of Frederique, tells Haruhi that he(she?) cannot forget his desire for revenge towards the other man. Suddenly, a spotlight focuses on the host club.

Benio tells haruhi that she’ll kiss him infront of Tamaki as revenge, stealing her first kiss. Tamaki rushes forward, but falls on a banana skin. Benio brings haruhi up to an elevated stage, and is about to kiss Haruhi. Just in time, Kyoya displays the photo of Tamaki kissing Haruhi. (thus no revenge) Haruhi wants to escape, but the stage is too high. Tamaki comes forward to offer to catch haruhi. Haruhi finally jumps, flattening Tamaki. (HAhAHAHA)

Ranka is upset about how things turned out. Benio has also asked everyone to catch hold of haruhi. Thus haruhi is left running around on stage, wishing that she was home studying instead. The episode closes with everybody slipping on banana skins!

Thoughts

Maybe it’s just me, but i think the animation is of a higher quality.

Anyway. Perfectly hilarious. Does this confirm haruhixtamaki? She DID jump. (laughs at the memory) But who knows.

Next ep looks like it’ll suck again. It’s about the twins.
