There are people who say that the jokes are getting stale and boring etc.. but well.. I’m a sucker for romance comedies (school rumble anyone?), so in a sense, Ouran Host Club is actually becoming better to me. haha.

So Arai, who appeared at the end of ep 15, is indeed Haruhi’s middle school’s classmate. And as epected, he DID have a crush on haruhi, but felt rejected, when haruhi totally misunderstood what he was saying. (what do you expect) As such, the fact that he had a crush surprised everybody, haruhi included.

Hikaru started becoming very mean to Arai, especially in his remarks, until a point where Haruhi slapped him, and he went back to his room, sulking. Kaoru tried to get him to apologise, but he refused. Kaoru then tried to apologise pretending to be hikaru, but nothing escapes the eyes of Haruhi.

I was quite surprised at the maturity level of kaoru, and especialy the concern he showed for hikaru. In fact, I thought Kaoru would be jealous of haruhi. But no…. he arranged for a date between haruhi and hikaru instead.

So the date happens, and of course Tamaki is super jealous. While kaoru explained why he arranged for the date, and insisted that nobody interfere, Tamaki can hardly hold himself back.

But near the end of the date, they meet Arai again, and Hikaru’s jealousy flares up again, and he leaves on his own, with hikaru chasing after him. But a thunderstorm is arriving.

Later, Arai calls Misuzu, asking if he knows where hikaru and haruhi are, explaining the situation. A frustrated tamaki gives hikaru a call, explaining that haruhi actually went after him, and that she’s actually scared of thunder, and he shouldn’t be so selfish and care about himself only.

Hikaru finally finds haruhi in a church, and he offers her his headphones. And I guess you can say haruhi grew a little through this episode.

Mmm… I like! It’s probably just me… but I think the series is getting better. haha.
