Um. This episode felt weird. Weird because while it was not very exciting or funny, it did have some very nice moments, and some utterly hilarious expressions.

The newspaper club managed to sell only 2 copies of its newspaper. To it’s 2 club members. As such, they decided to hitch onto the Host Club’s popularity to try and revive the newspaper for its final print, before the club dissolves. What they want to do is to have an interview with the host club. But in actual fact, he just wants to cause trouble for Tamaki, someone that he sees as a very shrewd person.

This forms the platform for us as the audience, to see the kind of simple person tamaki is. And to see the love that the rest of the host club has for him deep down. As such, they would do all in their power to protect him from people like the newspaper club, even if Tamaki is too slow to realise what’s going on.

We get brought through how Tamaki first invited everyone to join the hostclub.

We also get introduced to how powerful Tamaki’s family actually is. Including the fact that Tamaki is the school principal’s son. At the same time, his family background seemed to parallel haruhi, as he also had a sick mom whom he spent most of his childhood days with.
