Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru - 07

Just when I was hoping that the series goes along the comedy track, it goes back to its drama roots. Yet another episode of Mizuho totally owning Takako again. This time over Kana’s ‘big’ ribbon.

The first major change noticeable is that they are wearing new uniforms. It’s a very drastic change though, from white to black. The contrast can be seen as the ghost is still “wearing” the old uniform.

Anyway, so new uniform means a uniform check by the student council. Surprisingly, Takako stops Kana because her ribbon is supposedly against the school rules, at the same time admonishing Mizuho for not guiding her properly. Mizuho does not say anything, but Mariya steps in to argue. Later, Mariya scolds Mizuho for not protecting kana.

A listless Mizuho catches his teacher’s attention, who gives him advice that there can always be more than one correct opinion. Although if he thinks Kana is right, then he should protect kana. Finally, Mizuho makes up his mind and tells Kana that he’ll definitely protect her regarding the ribbon.

Later, Shion approaches Mizuho as well, and points out about the school council rule that allows for protests. Of course, Mariya had the same idea, and is happy that Mizuho is now taking an active role defending kana.

The protest is submitted, but it causes problems for Kana, who is harassed by a group after the students think that she’s always clinging on to Onee-sama and using her to protect kana even when she breaks the school rules. However, Mizuho arrives to protect Kana, and scolding the students, making them flee in embarassment.

The protest to the school body arrives, and Mizuho wins hands down after showing that the ribbon ain’t actually very big. It just looks big cause Kana is small. :|

Takako is left wondering if Mizuho is a friend or enemy, after Mizuho had earlier tried to explain that though he thinks that he is right, he believes that Takako isn’t wrong as well.

Oh yah, Kana had earlier mentioned that the ribbon is important to her as she’s actually an orphan, and the ribbon was actually given to her by the principal who took great care of her. The ribbon thus gives her the courage to move forward.

Thoughts

A little disappointed to find that my comedy that I was expecting disappeared. But it’s okay, that’s minor.

Nothing much in this episode. I guess one small step forward for mizuho and takako??
