Elections for Elder came and went in just a single episode. Of course, Takako tries to derail Mizuho becoming Elder, but doesn’t quite succeed.

It’s breakfast, and the plan to get Mizuho elected as elder is all underway. Mariya explains the complicated concept of the elections to Mizuho, as well as how if a candidate votes for another candidate, all the votes for the former counts of the latter, hence relationship during the election race counts for plenty as well. Hence together with Kana and Yukari, campaigning for Mizuho starts!

Much to Mizuho’s surprise, he’s taking the same elective as Takako, who ends up sitting beside him. Here, we see the difference between the 2. Takano is taking the elective because it’s the easiest to score, while Mizuho is taking it because he likes it.

Well… Takako has her election team as well… the school council. But obviously Takako is worried about the challenge of Mizuho, and get pissed enough to scare away her team. Meanwhile, Mariya’s plan is working, as freshmen come up to Mizuho gushing.

Finally it’s time to reveal the results. Mizuho wins a landslide 82% of the votes, but Takako rushes on stage to interrupt, arguing for “tradition”. But in an emotional appearance, Shion goes on stage to explain that the elder should simply be one supported by everybody, and how she’s sorry for disappointing everyone. Of course Shion’s argument totally pawns Takako’s.

Just as Shion finishes with her speech though, she collapses. Even as Takako freezes up, Mizuho springs into action. Mizuho carries Shion up in one scoop, jumps off the stage in one superman leap, and rushes to the school nurse.

With such dramatics… of course Mizuho totally pawns. Takako is forced to admit defeat, at the same time being totally disappointed in herself for freezing up. Mizuho is an interesting person she says.

Thoughts

The first half was really super boring. But the latter half was done really well and emotional I must say.

What was all that rubbish that Mariya spouted at breakfast at the start? There were NO other candidates to speak off, not shown anyway. haha.

Not a bad episode, but I hope this episode does not reflect what the whole series would be like. If I wanted that, I’d be watching strawberry panic. What we need more is the difference that this series potentially has. The fact that Mizuho is a guy. They really need to play that part up more… bring in more humour… make it different.
