Innocent Venus - Ep 03
Other than a very cute and adorable Sana, the only thing this episode provided is more questions, while revealing things we already knew. Hopefully the exciting battle scenes will come next week, when phantom and ex-phantom clash. This weeks battle was kinda disappointing.
We continue where we left off last ep. Jo in a gladiator is pretty much invincible. But Jin and Sana still have to get away, turning the truck around and driving off. But the Wakou vessel destroys another part of the road, trapping it. A helicopter serves to carry the truck over to the vessel.
An explaination arrives on why bullets pretty much bounce off the gladiator. Apparently, it’s a special mecha, which thus far, only those in the phantom are able to ride it. Research is on going to allow everybody access to it, but it’s not working. But the research has to go on… can’t let the phantom be too powerful… and because of politics.
Jo’s fight is over, and getting out of the gladiator… all he ’suffers’ are tears… (we don’t know why he teared yet), as compared to other normal humans. But with the wakou vessel diving below the sea, Jo has no choice but to pick up Gora and ask him where the Wakou base is.
On the wakou vessel, Sana and Jin are escorted by two pirates. But a scuffle occurs when one of them point a gun at Sana. A strong burly lady, Hijin, arrives and orders that Sana and Jin be treated as guest, and treated well. Hijin then brings them to the chief, Toraji.
Toraji and Jin exchange pleasantries. Toraji believes that Jin was from the phatom, since he had the gladiator suit. While Jin pointed out that the vessel that they were on was decidedly military and very new.
Elsewhere, Renee is reporting to drake about the battle that occurred in episode 1. The sighting of the gladiators and the girls that was with them. At the same time, Chinran is doing fortune telling using cards, which reveal ship, anxiety, and betrayal. And what do you know, a call comes in from Renee regarding traitors.
Touraji asks Hijin to bring Sana out, so he can interrogate Jin. Touraji questions Jin about Sana, seemingly to know something, but Jin answers with nothing. Meanwhile outside, Sana asks Hijin about Touraji, but Hijin says that he is not a bad guy. Just odd.
Since Jin isn’t talking, Touraji turns to asking Sana questions. He asks her just one thing. Was she on the airplane.
This triggers a flashback to a planeride where Sana was on. It’s another attack, while 2 jetplane escorting it tries to shoot down the attacker with missiles. They fail, and are shot down with lasers instead. Men drop down onto the plane Sana is on, and promtly dispatchers her bodyguards. (or are they just escorting her with her as a prisoner. who knows) However after everything, the guy in white armour turns to his partner and shoots him in the visor. He is revealed to be Jin, who tells Sana that all is alright.
Meanwhile, the phatom are given orders to retrieve Sana, i.e. Venus. At the same time, Jo arrive at the base together with Gora.
Thoughts
Like I said. Boring. We shall see what the next episode is revealed. There’s only so long a series can be sustained on just a cute girl’s expression.

Quoted ‘Jo in a gladiator is pretty much invincible.’
I must beg to differ, he already is invincible without his gladiator. Although I may sound like a sadist but I think it is a beautiful sight when he cry.

You’re right… especially seeing how he fought in ep 4. But then again, he lost to toraji.
I don’t think it’s sadistic in anyway, but it does look like sad and pitiful. Can’t wait to find out why he cries though

Ya, I agree he is amazing in epi 4. Losing to Toraji is expected. Toraji isn’t a simple man and a vice commander of phantom. That’s no ordinary opponent.
For the moment, let’s dismiss the crying as side effect since Jo dismiss it that way himself.
