Honey and Clover II - Ep 5
Rika has opened up her heart to Mayama. Can Yamada let go of the memories of Mayama that she cherieshed, and open her heart up to Nomiya? I do sympathise with Yamada though. After all, the memories of Mayama has been the things that she has held so dear. Would opening herself up to Nomiya mean that those memories were not actually that important?
Yamada and Miwako are choosing some colour designs back at Fujiwara designs. Miwako commented that Yamada looks busy, and that she gets to work in really fantastic places, which Yamada attributes to Rika’s introductions. Speaking of Rika, Yamada reflects on how though Yamada did not follow Rika to Spain, something has obviously changed. Rika has probably opened her heart to Mayama.
Miwako looks at Yamada, and decides to drag her to a health spa, where ” you can’t think sad things”. But later at a patio, Miwako points out the strong smell of kinmokusei. The smell of kinmokusei reminds Yamada of the times where she would go to places where she can hopefully get to see Mayama. And the tears can’t help but flow. Miwako later brings Yamada back home.
Nomiya calls at the right timing, and Miwako tells him about Yamada. Nomiya is frustrated that Yamada didn’t follow what he told her, to come to him when she needed someone to cry to. Yamazaki asks if Nomiya wants to rush back to Tokyo, but Nomiya acts like he refuses to. Actually, The job is finishing soon, and they’ll be back in tokyo soon, if Yamada would just wait for him.
Yamada in her sleep, is crying about why she cannot forget about the things Nomiya told her while at the sand dunes previously.
Back in school, Takemoto is freaking out cause Morita is eating his food, especially since he had spent on his money on driving lessons already. When Hagu offers him her cake, Morita intercepts and chumps his mouth over Hagu’s hands, leaving Hagu screaming filthy. Shuuji chucks the 2 boys out the window, for disturbing Hagu.
Outside, Takemoto wants to know what on earth Morita does for a job, and why doesn’t he spend his money. But morita has to rush off, after getting a call from his bro. Back at the brother’s office, the brother reveals a plan to get 50 yen from every child for all eternity. (Online game I’ll bet). When he asks if Morita would do a job, he refuses. But after threatening to change the plan to “just 1 year, and to all adults under 30″, Morita agrees.
Back at the rooms, Mayama is treating takemoto to food. takemoto asks why Mayama doesn’t shift out and rent something better. Mayama claims that he is saving up so that he has money to do stuff when opportunities arrive. One of them, is that if something happens to the woman you love, you have enough money to tell her to take a break first. Takemoto says he understands, but realises he doesn’t quite understand the true meaning behind it.
Few days later at Fujiwara design, Yamada is supposed to meet Miwako, but she’s not around. So she plays with Leader while waiting for her. But thinking about the trip to the health spa, she thinks about mayama again. In her sadness, she inches towards giving Nomiya a call. But somebody returns, and Yamada goes over thinking that it’s Miwako. But it’s actually Nomiya. In surprise, Yamada delivers a swirling kick, and runs out.
On the streets, Yamada thinks about how she’s unwilling to let go of her memories of Mayama. Though she had actually already wanted to call Nomiya, actually seeing him, made her afraid that she’ll do something that will make all those memories lies. While she didn’t want any help moving on from the memories of mayama, she was actually very happy to see Nomiya too. But for the very same reasons, seeing Nomiya made her very sad.
The last part just made me tear. Too close to the heart I guess. *sigh*
