I’ve always wanted to be the one supporting the one I loved. Not that I have anyone to give my support for at the moment, but to see the things that mayama do for rika. To be able to provide that silent help, knowing what’s the best to do without being asked… makes me wish… that I could too.

I actually had tons of mixed feelings watching this. On one hand, I’m happy for mayama. I’m also happy for rika, and I do hope that this gives her the will to live. At the same time, while I knew rika was planning something stupid, I never thought she would be sleeping with mayama. Maybe I’m still too conservative. And isn’t mayama an ultimate stalker? Yet why is it that I cannot fault him for it at all.

Very brilliant episode I must say.

It started with a recap by shuu, after hagu took out a post card. From this recap, you really see the emotional trauma that Shuu went through previously. The time at the beach together, where harada was beckoning to rika to join him in the sea. This was such a forbodding image to the present, where rika continuosly thinks of dying and crossing the river styx. There was one scene where Shuu stretches out his hand to Rika on the rooftop. He could be reaching out to rika. But I believe he nearly wanted to push Rika off the roof, so that she could join Harada. Sad. Very sad.

Anyway, reverting to mayama and rika. Out of impulse, mayama pushes rika into a train heading back to her home town. Sharing a room with rika in the train, was the most happiest thing to happen to mayama (at that time) But you can see throughout, the care mayama had for rika, right to the smallest detail.

Skipping to the night, Rika sleeps with mayama. But tries to sneak off the next morning. But mayama is prepared, having attached an alarm to her handbag. (SO SMART! i’ll remember this for next time) And basically, mayama confronts rika, especially about not dying. In the end, Rika agrees, and gets together with mayama

The final scene was done very very well, especially with the insert song.
