This ep came across as a little unsatisfying. Maybe it’s because I was disappointed to see how weak Saya and Hagi were. You can almost feel Diva winning the war already, she was outright creepy in this ep. And I’m still left wondering what are the motives of Amshel

Diva is seen having trashed her room. Amshel asks what she truely desires, and as her reply, she points to a photo of Kai

At the army base, Kai is staring at a giant poster of Diva’s performance. He is frustrated as David had told him earlier not to try anything when in front of Diva. This is because he won’t do any damage anyway, and Saya is too weak to fight at the moment.

Mao and Okamaru has reserved front row seats, with Okamaru reminding her that she’s hear to do reporting. Mao understands, but comments that she realises that she’s really unable to do anything. This contrasts with Saya, who at the same time, collapses from dizziness, with Hagi catching her. Saya laments about her weakness, and her inability to do anything either.

Meanwhile, David is stalking around the base in a security uniform, but notices Julia entering a building, followed by Collins far behind, and Collins was seen holding a gun. Inside, Julia had just finished an ultrasound on Diva. Julia calls them fetuses in Diva, but Diva insist on calling them babies. Julia believes that compared to a human pregnancy, Diva’s pregnancy is around the 8th week, but Diva feels that they would be born soon. Julia seems to show much discomfort regarding the babies.

Taking a cigarette, she is trying to light her lighter when Collins appears from behind her. Collins asks Julia what she wants to do with what she knows, to which she replies that she just wants to find out all there is to the truth. But Collins asks what the duty of the scientists is, and that the public deserves to know what they have found out. Julia questions whether Collins wants to do that simply for fame and prestige, which Collin readily admits that he wants to leave his name in history. Julia tries to argue that the chiropterean are dangerous, and they can still turn back. But Collin rebutes that they were the one who caused the destruction of the Red Shield, who are they to turn back to now.

At the airbase, lots of candy are being distributed. Van is standing at a nearby hill, together with helicopters and the corpse corps, ready for a show that’s about to begin. Meanwhile, because Diva desires it, Amshel had “invited” Kai to visit Diva. Meanwhile, Diva explains that Riku is still living, not just from her appearances, but also in her abdomen. This causes Kai to remember what happened when Riku was killed. Just then, Nathan interrupts, as it’s time for Diva’s performance. Diva proclaims that she’s going to sing for Kai, but it’s not something Kai wants.

Diva starts her performance, and her voice reaches even Collins. Collins pulls out his gun at this point, saying that when Julia is gone, the rest can only rely on him, while Julia believes that they will still not choose him, angering Collins. Meanwhile, Diva has finished her song, and she starts to persuade Kai about being her cheveliar. Wouldn’t he want to be by her side protecting the 2 babies inside her. In fact, has Diva’s cheveliar, Kai would then be able to mate with Saya. Incensed, Kai pulls out a gun and points it at Diva. Diva tells him that it’s okay, all he has to do is shoot and drink her blood, making a final plea in Riku’s voice, stunning Kai.

BANG!

Actually, it was Collins who fired. And he had hit David, who had jumped into the room through the window. He manages to take the shot for Julia, at the same time throwing a spatula at Collins, injuring his arm. This causes Collins to run out of the room screaming. Meanwhile, David collapses, telling Julia that everyone is waiting for her to return.

Diva is getting pissed that Kai is not getting moved, and decides to suck his blood. But Saya intercepts and jump in at this point. However, she is swiftly caught by Amshel, who crushes her arm. Hagi jumps in too, but is easily held by Nathan. Diva decides to allow Amshel to kill Saya in front of Kai, promting him to fire at Diva, but the bullet is easily stopped by Amshel.

Suddenly, in front of the stage, some of the spectators turned into Chiroptereans. (those who ate the candy) Okamura is busy taking photos of them, but attracts the attention of one of the Chiroptereans. Luckily for him, a corpse corp arrives from the air killing it. In fact, the whole event is filmed as a demostration to be sent to the pentagon by Van and his assistant.

Diva is happy about the proceedings, and gives Amshel the go ahead to kill Saya. Amshel starts to strangle Saya, regretting about extinguishing the light in Saya’s eyes. Suddenly, Amshel is forced to intercept a dagger thrown at Diva, thus dropping Saya. It’s Solomon, who arrives to catch Saya. Amshel asks if Solomon is now pointing his sword at Diva too. Solomon answers that this is the way he has chosen to live, to be together with Saya. Transforming, he flies off together with Saya.

Diva is pissed that everybody is just taking about Saya. And tells Amshel not to pursue. She wants to go back already, besides, she has her two kids too. Suddenly, Hagi gains strength, and manages to kick Nathan aside. After everyone leaves, Hagi starts to run in the direction Solomon left. Kai thinks it’s absurd to give chase, but to Hagi, Saya is the only person he has.

Thoughts

How do the corpse corps come into the picture. Understandably, they are a good source of army, but do they really need to go through so much trouble to promote it to the US government? Maybe this will allow them to get close to the government to initiate a take over?

And I would have thought that Diva’s singing would have some adverse effect, otherwise why the big performance. In the end, it was just candy laced with delta 67. Boring. So why the big opera performance coming soon. Can’t be another demostration of corpse corps is it.

I wonder how Kai felt when Diva suggested that he can mate with Saya if he becomes Diva’s cheveliar. haha.
