Blood+ - ep 40

I’ve enjoyed listening to the song “Diva” all these while. I find it hauntingly attractive. But to see Diva sing is just plain creepy. Maybe it’s the Riku look. Anyway, this episode can be said to be the peace before the storm, ironically broken by a police siren.

bscap0752.jpgbscap0754.jpgbscap0757.jpgbscap0762.jpgbscap0767.jpgbscap0773.jpg

bscap0753.jpgEverybody has now arrived in New York. Diva is practising her (creepy) singing at Nathan’s house, while Saya is sleeping in what I think is a hotel suite. Saya is dreaming of the promise she had made with Hagi previously in Russia, bringing a tear to her eye, which Hagi wipes away. Waking up, Saya only stumbles into Hagi. Saying she’s alright, she proceeds to take a hot bath.

bscap07571.jpgDiva meanwhile suddenly approaches Nathan, to suck on his blood. This seems to give him orgasmic bliss (i think it wasn’t done before), until Diva seemingly was going to suck him dry. But just as suddenly, Diva releases him and goes back to singing. Amshel comes over, and Nathan comments that Diva’s tension seems high, and wonders how Saya is feeling.

bscap0759.jpgBack at the hotel, Saya is getting a blood infusion. (contrasting to Diva’s blood sucking?) Saya has been looking out to the city below, and is thinking about how there are so many people, who will never know about Diva or her, or what happened. Hagi comments that this was what Saya and Joel chose in the past. Saya apologises for making Hagi her cheveliar. But Hagi says that Saya once said that she wanted to go traveling together with him, with a sword in hand, and this is what supports him in his times of loneliness. Saya clings to Hagi, and thanks him for all he has said.

bscap0761.jpgBack at the countryside, Nathan brings a bottle of wine to Amshel, and comments that Amshel looks like a fatherly figure. Amshel replies that he’s just someone who worships Diva, while Nathan comments that he himself just wants to see Diva sing her best on stage. When asked, Amshel comments that his desire is simply what Diva desires. Nathan comments that in that case, Amshel should just bring Hagi to Diva, but Amshel comments that he is not the one Diva wants, otherwise Amshel would have done it long ago. Whatever gives Diva happiness, Amshel will do, and he’ll remove all other obstacles.

At that moment, Diva walks into the forests, and meets Solomon who approaches her. Amshel then asks why after all this while, Solomon would suddenly come and contact Diva. Solomon replies that he has things to tell Diva, about the past, and the future.

Solomon asks if Diva remembers the time where they first met. Near the end of world war 1, Solomon was a doctor then, and Amshel had brought Solomon into a castle to meet Diva. Amshel had cut himself, allowing Diva to drink from his blood, explaining to Solomon that Diva was the most important thing to him. Amshel then walks over to Solomon, explain that Solomon Goldsmith can die here that day, and by getting the blood of Diva, they can be really blood related. Amshel then proceeds to pierce a sword into Solomon, leaving Solomon collapsing in a pool of his own blood.

bscap0766.jpgBack in the presents, Solomon comments that when he became Diva’s Cheveliar, he thought it would free him from the strife that plagued the world. But with his imortal life, he only came to saw humans as worthless beings, and became one who wanted to change the world. But yet in his own world, there is still strife, that between Diva and Saya. Diva replies that it is Saya who wants to kill her, and that she actually wanted to be with Saya. Solmon says that he cannot consider Saya as an enemy.

Diva questions if Solomon is in love with Saya, which Solomon admits. Diva wonders if Solomon would allow Diva to get killed, so that Saya will leave. But Diva inists that Saya will not be able to kill her, and though she wants to be with Saya, she wants to kill her more.

Diva then renounces Solomon as her cheveliar, and says that he is now the cheveliar who has chosen the wrong path. Diva then says that there’s no way Solomon can become her cheveliar, unless he can force her to bear his children.

bscap0768.jpgAfter Diva leaves, Amshel is prepared to fight with Solomon. Solomon comments that it’s pointless, since only Saya’s blood can kill them, but Amshel asks if that’s correct. Solomon surges forward, but his arm is immediately cut off with a blast by Amshel. Solomon reattaches the arm, and they go at each other.

But Nathan stops them, as they are destroying the landscape of his home. Besides, James and Diva are sleeping in the house peacefully. (James is still alive! albeit without a body) Amshel comments that it’s only Solomon’s biological blood that makes him like Saya. But Solomon replies that the same blood makes him love Diva too, and he hasn’t lost any respect for Diva. Amshel comments that to make Saya his, Solomon will have to kill her first, otherwise the rest of the cheveliars will definitely kill her.

bscap0770.jpgBack at the hotel, Kai returns with dinner, but Hagi asks him to keep quiet, wishing that Saya can continue to enjoy the peace of sleep longer. Leaving the room, Hagi brings along his cello, which he proceeds to play at the roof of a building, until a police siren suddenly sounds.

Thoughts

I wonder who is it that Diva wants. She seemed to want Riku, but has already killed him. Does that mean Kai is the one? There are mentions of becoming a cheveliar by bearing a child together. This was hinted at with Diva and Riku, but didn’t quite happen. Will it happen now? Will Solomon actually do IT with Saya? Interesting development!
Obviously going into a new ‘era’. Solomon no longer wears white. While the splash screen for next week’s ep has turned from yellow to grey.

I think the queens can only get pregnant with each other’s chevaliers, and not their own.

That is why Diva went after Riku the second time.
That is what she suggested Solomon do with Saya because he no longer wanted to be Diva’s chevalier, and could not become Sayas because he already took Diva’s blood.

Maybe you could become a chevalier if you bore children together, i’m not sure.

A Chiropteran Queen can only be impregnated by her sister’s chevaliers. It was proved when Diva became pregnent with Riku’s children. But please don’t get any hopes about Saya and Solomon-If it doen’t work out it’ll be very sad.

Sorry to tell you but they don’t and I don’t think Solomon is going to live for very long. Not while he has his brothers and his feeling for Saya placing a heavy burden on his heart. But he does leave with know more than a whisper.

    Riku was RAPED by Diva! It’s not his fault, and he’s not “kind of… evil” for it, Madysen. e_e;;
Riku was a poor little boy who was MURDERED. D:<

And anyways, I think HajixSaya is better than SolomanxSaya. d:
And it proves to be so. X3

He’s been through so much garbage that he deserves Saya I think. He’s impaled every other episode.
